Muriel McKay, a housewife and mother, was just going about her business on December 29, 1969, when she was kidnapped — she later turned up dead. It was a case of mistaken identity — the culprits had actually been after the wife of media baron, Rupert Murdoch. Muriel’s husband Alick worked for him, and as they later told him over the phone: “We tried to get Rupert Murdoch’s wife. We couldn’t get her so we took yours instead.” Ouch. This truly bizarre story is told over two episodes and makes for fascinating viewing. Must-see.

Bluey S3

Monday, 8am, ABC Kids

Bluey’s back — and not a moment too soon for frazzled parents, who’ve been suffering through repeats for the past little while. I say “suffering,” but let’s face it, watching this delightful children’s show — which has now become a hit right across the world — is hardly a chore. Season four is another delight, opening up the Bluey-verse even more and giving dedicated fans lots of great little in-jokes to enjoy. Adored this.

Selling Sunset S4

Netflix, streaming Wednesday

Ring the bell, it’s time to celebrate — Selling Sunset’s back! A lot has happened since we last saw the ladies of The Oppenheim Group. Chrishell’s divorced, Christine’s now nine months pregnant (but still in sky-high Louboutins!) and Heather’s about to become Mrs El Moussa. Spare a thought for Amanza though — she’s been stuck at home, homeschooling her kids. Ouch. Can’t wait to see the drama play out this season. Jason and Chrishell become a real life couple — squee! A guilty pleasure.

The Beatles Get Back

Disney+, starts streaming Thursday

Paul McCartney recently admitted that Peter Jackson’s documentary has changed his perception of their split. Woah — talk about a mike drop. “I’ll tell you what is really fabulous about it, it shows the four of us having a ball,” he recently told The Sunday Times. The film, which will air over three nights, uses old unseen footage of the band recording their penultimate studio album, Let It Be. No previews were given, but the trailer looks spine-tinglingly good. Can’t wait for this.

Burning

Amazon Prime, streaming Friday

The fires of the Australian Black Summer burned 59 million acres, killed an estimated three billion animals — and collectively scarred the nation. This documentary from Aussie Oscar-winning filmmaker Eva Orner takes a look at what happened, and the role climate-change played. It’s devastating at times — you’ll want to look away as they replay footage of koalas screaming in agony as their wounds are attended to. We can’t look away from this important doco though — must-see TV.
