Global mission and domestic drama await as hit series The Rookie returns to Seven and 7plus

The hit US police procedural that has captured the hearts of millions of Australian viewers is gearing up for its biggest, most explosive season yet.

The Rookie, which holds the crown as 7plus’ most-streamed American drama, will officially return for its highly anticipated eighth season on Monday, airing exclusively on Channel 7 and 7plus.

The series has become an absolute juggernaut for the Seven Network, pulling in a massive audience of more than 6.9 million Australian viewers across Total TV during its seventh season.

In a dramatic shift for the show, the upcoming season will see the LAPD team head across the Atlantic to Prague for a high-stakes global mission.

Fan-favourite officer John Nolan, played by the charismatic Nathan Fillion, will find himself in unfamiliar territory.

The powerhouse ensemble cast features returning stars including Detective Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox), firefighter Bailey Nune (Jenna Dewan) and FBI Supervisory Special Agent Matt Garza (Felix Solis).

With a perfect blend of international espionage, high-octane police action, and the relationship drama that has kept millions hooked, season eight promises to be the show’s most compelling outing yet.

The Rookie is created by Alexi Hawley and produced by Lionsgate Television in partnership with 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
