TV star Angie Kent has admitted she “got a little bit too excited” at a picnic before getting behind the wheel after drinking.

The former Bachelorette star was fined $1200 and disqualified from driving for four months, with Kent’s past driving record called into question during a hearing at Downing Centre Court last week.

The court heard the 31-year-old was arrested in Sydney on October 3 after allegedly blowing .081 when police pulled her over while she was on her way from a picnic.

The court also about previous road offences, including a drink driving conviction in 2014.

The court also heard Kent had set out on a picnic on one of the first days vaccinated people could visit friends and had “two drinks” before deciding to drive.

Kent was questioned about it during an appearance on the Kyle & Jacki O radio show on Tuesday, where she admitted to the “naughty” mistake.

“I just finished back-to-back training for five weeks for Dancing With the Stars – and when I’m stressed I don’t eat much – and I had two drinks for my first fully-vaxxed picnic,” she told the Kiis Network.

“I got a little bit too excited and I drove and I shouldn’t have.

“I thought I was able to drive after two drinks but the lesson here is that don‘t think you can at all because there’s a good chance you’ll be over and its not worth it.”
