With her dream date being to spontaneously get on a flight to another city or country, Stephanie Lynch may have found her perfect match.

The 27-year-old from East Victoria Park is putting her heart on the line in the latest season of The Bachelor, which premieres this week.

When she walks the red carpet, standing at the end will be 31-year-old Jetstar pilot Jimmy Nicholson, whose job may put her one step closer to the ultimate date.

After checking out the flight deck of a plane at eight years old, Nicholson followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father by pursuing a career in the aviation industry.

While he may have been grounded for the past year as travel was scaled back, there’s a chance he could soon take Lynch above the clouds.

A business development manager, she described her ideal man as “tall, dark and handsome”, while she is looking for someone who also likes to have a laugh at themselves.

“(I want) one that I can have the deep conversations, but wants to enjoy life and have fun,” she said.

One of her more interesting hobbies is that she is an avid gamer who live streams herself playing, but will have to test her skill set when it comes to competing with others for a shot at love.

“I’m a huge lover of the franchise. I love throwing myself into new experiences and I’m ready to find someone to settle down with,” she said of her decision to sign up to the reality series.

Stephanie Lynch

While she hasn’t yet found the right one, Lynch is hoping to replicate the relationship goals set by her parent’s marriage, just like the Bachelor, whose parents have been married for 30 years.

However, Nicholson may find himself having to come up against his predecessor.

“As a sapiosexual, I definitely had a huge crush on (2019 Bachelor) Matt Agnew,” Lynch said.
