Hilary Duff made millennial dreams come true in Perth on Thursday night.

The singing and acting superstar wrapped up her global Lucky Me tour at RAC Arena — her first time in Perth, can you believe — and she definitely gave her fans a night to remember.

Thousands of glittery and butterfly-bedazzled fans in attendance had grown up with the former Disney Channel star who rose to fame as Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s and went on to star in films like A Cinderella Story and Cheaper by the Dozen.

Duff kickstarted her singing career as a teenager with her second album Metamorphosis, featuring hit singles like So Yesterday and Come Clean, and went on to perform shows across the world between 2003 and 2006.

The now mother-of-four took a break from music and touring but in February released her sixth album Luck...Or Something and launched a mega pop comeback after two decades.

Perth fans who have been following her every move since day one finally got to see the star in all her glory, and they lapped up every moment.

Duff emerged on stage just before 9pm with her song Wake Up, and after setting the atmosphere with a couple of hits, she addressed the screaming crowd who belted out every single lyric of her songs.

“Oh Perth, oh my gosh,” she said.

“Okay, I’m so sorry it took so long for me to get here. You’re all so amazing and seem ready to have some fun, so welcome to the very last show of the 2026 Lucky Me tour.

“I think this is show number 46, which feels crazy; time has flown by.

“Not playing shows for 20-something years has been so fun, and I’m incredibly grateful you’re here dressed up and took a night out; I see all of you.”

Some song highlights included Play With Fire, where flames ignited behind her on stage, Breathe In. Breathe Out, Sparks, Someone’s Watching Over Me, Fly and Future Tripping where she got the crowd to clap along.

The night was full of throwbacks as fans relived the soundtrack to their childhood, with an adorable montage of clips from Duff’s early acting days played on the LED screens.

She even recreated her Disney Channel wand ID with a drumstick — throughout the 2000s, actors would introduce themselves and say, “You’re watching Disney Channel,” before drawing the classic Mickey Mouse ear logo with a glowing neon wand.

But the 39-year-old proved she isn’t just a nostalgic act.

Everyone in the audience knew her latest album too.

One of the most anticipated moments of the concert is when Duff performs With Love — the song that turned her into a meme after her low-energy dance moves from 2007 went viral in recent years.

She has since embraced the dance trend and even chooses a lucky fan to join her on stage to show off their moves.

Since Perth was the last stop of the tour, Duff went crazy and randomly handpicked at least 20 people — some dressed as Lizzies and other characters — to come up on stage and dance.

It was so heartwarming to witness the joy lifelong and new fans alike experienced as they got to hug the superstar and party alongside her.

Throughout the almost two-hour concert, Duff showed her love for Australia and in particular her new obsession — the quokka.

“Quokkas are my favourite thing right now,” she said.

“I want to put one in my suitcase, but I won’t.”

She was also perplexed at the idea of spearmint milk: “A weird thing you guys have is spearmint milk. What is going on there?”

Duff sent the crowd into fits of laughter while she poured a can of Hard Rated into an Ugg boot to perform an honorary ‘shoey’ and thoroughly enjoyed the lemon-flavoured beverage.

She finished the show with the song everyone had been waiting for, What Dreams Are Made Of, and the entire audience danced and sang their hearts out as pink balloons and confetti exploded from the roof.

It was surreal to see someone you spent years watching as a teenager on the family-room TV now standing in front of you on the arena stage of your hometown, except she’s all grown up.

Thursday night wasn’t just a concert; it was a celebration of how much Duff and her fan base have grown.

Duff knows who she is now and has broken free from her child actor persona and the character who never grew up, but that era will never be forgotten.

While her concert wasn’t as speccy as the likes of Zara Larsson or Tate McRae in terms of the dancing, Duff’s vocals shone through, and her songs and the memories they evoked were enough for die-hard fans.

After all these years, Duff still oozes talent as she tackled songs she had to relearn and reignited a nostalgic spark in all of us.
