The West Australian Rich List 2019: Perron family’s wealth surpassed by commitment to charity

The Perron family would be happy if this was their last entry in The West Australian’s annual Rich List magazine — such is their commitment to charity.

The late Stan Perron’s will provided for a potential near-equal split of his enormous wealth between his family and acts of kindness.

But the dedication during his life that his business empire helped better the lives of others means that most of the company’s profits will flow through to the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation.

Indeed, his daughter Elizabeth Perron, pictured, one of his three children, has succeeded him as chair of the foundation.

The Perron Group creates more than $200 million in annual profits from its shopping centres and office towers, iron ore royalties and the WA distribution to new Toyota vehicles.

Mr Perron was worth $3.45 billion on his death.
