Fortescue’s annual general meeting was too long for Andrew Forrest’s liking, after the executive chairman was picked up complaining to his fellow directors on the AGM’s live webcast. Mr Forrest reportedly made the comments at the conclusion of Fortescue’s approximately two-hour long AGM at Crown Perth in Burswood on Tuesday. “Team, we’ve got to do something about this AGM,” he said. “The welcome to country was way too long, the speeches were too long, everything was too long.” The comments were heard by the AGM’s online participants, but not those attending in person. The welcome to country was given by Whadjuk/Ballardong elder Freda Ogilvie, before Mr Forrest dived into a 20-year history of Fortescue. Fortescue currently does not have a copy of the AGM recording available.
